Gilat is a brand new Progressive House project from 26 year old from Oren Gilat, who hails from Migdal Haemeq, Israeli.

A new project – Yes, but new to the electronic scene – No! Oren has been amongst the dance music scene for some years now, producing and playing under his first alias El Niño (IL).

Electronic music infused Oren’s being at the early age of 8 years young, with receiving his first ever compilation CD, and no surprise it was Psychedelic Trance by none other than Man With No Name, Astral Projection and X-Dream. So as many others do when they’re entranced by what they ‘feel’ from hearing such soulful music, Oren put his hand to ‘bedroom’ Disc-Jockeying learning the craft, before he at just 14 was fortunate to start playing local parties in Northern Israel. Further into his teens with exciting experiences being billed to play bigger dance events in Israel, Oren with technological and musical talent took his skill one further step – to that of producing electronic music. At first like most guys with tech-gadgets and software, learning is by fooling around & experimenting with programs such as Impulse Tracker. However, it was Oren’s meeting with Mor Zarbel (aka Morpheus) that led to him being introduced to Professional electronic music production software. El Niño emerged to play sets all over Israel at many Dance parties, and European festivals such as Roots, Venom, and Atom, spreading his psy-infused happy uplifting, melodic & atmospheric groove.

It’s now 2010 and Oren along with the completion of his Sound Engineering degree (Emeq Hayarden College, IL), he’s expanded his musical creativity with a new project that bears his surname ‘Gilat’.
He’s already played some massive UK events, such as Area Club (Vauxhall), and Matter at London’s famed O2 Arena, but recently his energy’s been directed to generating pure emotive dance floor friendly minimal tracks. Gilat can already be heard, now as part of the Fatali Music family of artists, after having claimed his stake with the Gilat remix of Fatali’s ‘Deep’, which was supported by some of the biggest & well-known names within the Electronic Dance scene. With the release of his first EP ‘The Sun’, Gilat received kudos from Andy Newland (Audio Deluxe), as well as Eitan Carmi who signed him with an exclusive deal to join Fatali Music.
